The recruitment industry historically has not had a good name. When you decide to use a recruiter, how can you be sure you are getting a qualified, responsible, ethical and cost effective service? Don’t be caught out – know who you are dealing with.
The Recruitment Consulting Services Association (RCSA) is the recognised industry body for recruitment in Australia and New Zealand. Whilst some states have additional registration requirements for labour hire, the RCSA is the peak body and you should only deal with corporate members of the RCSA. The RCSA’s purpose is to ‘lead in the world of work’ and we at CIRCLE Recruitment & HR wholeheartedly embrace this, as a purpose we aspire to as well. We are a corporate member of the Recruitment Consulting Services Association, and the RCSA sets a benchmark for professionalism for all members, which we are obliged to comply with.
The RCSA Code of Conduct, covers such areas as required standards of behaviour, and is authorised by the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission). The code requires us to be diligent, competent, trustworthy, knowledgeable and respectful. Members must engage in operational integrity including certainty of engagement and effective complaints handling.
‘RCSA Members accept a professional responsibility of continuous disclosure of events in which they are involved and findings made against them which could reasonably be expected to reflect adversely on the character or reputation of the Member, the Association, or the Industry.’
We must maintain social sustainability and anyone can lodge a complaint against an RCSA member, and it will be fully investigated, with findings made, around whether the Recruiter has met the standard of professional conduct required by the RCSA Code.
In short your best protection against low quality, overpriced, cowboy recruiters is to always choose an RCSA Corporate member to be your recruiting partner. As the RCSA states, the benefit of using an RCSA member is :
- The breadth of knowledge and experience that an RCSA member can bring to your organisation;
- Our commitment to abiding by the ACCC authorised, Professional Code of Conduct;
- Our adherence to the standards of confidentiality, privacy, honest dealings, respect for laws, respect for safety and respect for certainty of engagement;
- As a Corporate Member it is not only the individual that holds these standards, but all staff within the organisation;
- The code is backed up by a disciplinary and dispute resolution system as well as an ethics management systems.
So rest easy that working with CIRCLE Recruitment & HR you are partnering with a sound, solid provider, backed up by an ACCC authorised Code of Professional Conduct and of course our many years of experience and academic standing in our field. We are ‘the right people for your business’!
